7 Unique Las Vegas-Based Places to Say “I Do”

You may have heard people call Las Vegas “The Entertainment Capital of the World.” There is so much to see, do and explore here – not to mention all the high-quality shows within walking distance of each other on the strip. BUT did you know this city is also known as The Wedding Capital of the World? It’s true! More couples decide to get married in Las Vegas than any other city in the world!

TV and Movies have made Sin City out to be a place simply meant for elopements and last-minute drunken nuptials at a seedy chapel on the Strip or Downtown, but in reality, Las Vegas and its surrounding areas offer a variety of unique and beautiful venues to provide a backdrop to your special day. We’ve compiled a list, to inspire your Las Vegas wedding.

Las Vegas Neon to Nature Nuptials

Mt. Charleston Lodge

Mt. Charleston Lodge is a great place to get married because it provides an all-in-one solution. Not only do they have a beautiful ceremony space nestled in the mountain as well as banquet space for the reception – your guests can opt to stay overnight at the lodge, making it a destination within a destination.

Tule Springs/Floyd Lamb Park

Located just on the outskirts, Floyd Lamb Park is a City of Las Vegas park blossoming with beauty. The park boasts four ponds flush with the beauty of flora and fauna, providing a beautifully peaceful backdrop for your special day.

Seven Magic Mountains

This man-made art installation is relatively newer to Las Vegas, and has become a popular tourist site. It also provides a great backdrop for engagement photos or a quick elopement ceremony. Larger/formal weddings are not recommended here as there are no bathrooms on-site and no private rentals of the space.

Valley of Fire

One of Nevada’s oldest and largest state parks, Valley of Fire, is filled with stunning views for your wedding backdrop. The park gets its name from the natural red sandstone formations (dating back to the jurassic period) that appear to glow when the sun hits them just right.  Enhance and capture your loved ones natural glow at this scenic outdoor location.

Red Rock Canyon

Similar to Valley of Fire, this state park offers breathtaking views, but is conveniently located closer to the city; making it easier for guests to get to the reception or their hotels. The mountains and rock formations also provide brilliant red hues that are mixed in with natural pastels of the desert. Also, the sun sets just behind these mountains, so plan your wedding during the golden hour for the best photo ops.

Camel Safari in Mesquite

Adventurous couples can enjoy a worldly wedding experience while staying in the US, making it easier for wedding guests to attend. Whether it’s celebrating pre-nuptials with your friends during the bachelor/bachelorette party, or saying I do amidst their stunning backdrop of the Mojave Desert, Camel Safari has the perfect package to one up your big day.

Eldorado Mine/Nelson Ghost Town

Couples looking for a more rustic wedding will fall in love with Eldorado Mine located just outside of Nelson Ghost Town. The mine is one of Nevada’s oldest and most famous mines where many movies, music videos, etc. have been filmed (including a scene in 3000 miles to Graceland, and for video gamers – Techatticup Mine was featured in Fallout: New Vegas). The Eldorado Mine has a wedding chapel available for rent as well as a BBQ area where you can host a small reception.
