What’s New Around Las Vegas: Summer 2025

Seasonal Trail Closures Now In Effect

While there’s still plenty of desert adventures to be had in Las Vegas during the summer, as the heat rises, we also see a few more seasonal trail closures. This is done to keep everyone safe as certain trails can be too remote, too hot, and have little to no cell service to call for help. Our parks work hard to make sure that everyone, no matter their hiking ability, has a safe and fun time. Seasonal closures protect the public from risky situations where they may not be prepared for the conditions.

With that in mind, here are the current seasonal closure updates:

Lake Mead

Goldstrike, Arizona Hot Springs, White Rock, and Liberty Bell Arch. These trails will reopen in Fall when temperatures improve and the daytime high at Willow Beach is forecast not to exceed 92 degrees F (33 degrees C).

Valley of Fire

Fire Wave, Seven Wonders Loop, Pastel Canyon Prospect, Arrowhead, Pinnacles, White Domes, Charlie Springs, and Natural Arches. These trails will remain closed through October 1, 2025.

Speaking of Valley of Fire, Gray Line Las Vegas offers new ways to explore with small group tours. Schedule a free pickup, available from most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip or Downtown, in a Mercedes Sprinter or Minibus. Then you’re off on a magical history tour discoving the ancient petroglyphs and unique rock formations of Valley of Fire.
