Exploring Southern Nevada comes with many opportunities – from the mega-resorts on the Las Vegas Strip; to the natural scenic locales for hiking, kayaking and riding ATVs; and anywhere in between. Whether you’re a couple looking for adventure, or a larger group trying to get somewhere together, you’re going to need a quality transportation option. That’s where Discreet Transportation Las Vegas comes in. We sat down with Jon Wispas from Discreet to talk about how to get around Las Vegas in style.
Q: Tell us about Discreet Transportation.
A: I used to own a tour company, and one of my friends was a driver for the company. Then COVID happened, and everything went silent. Coming out of COVID, several bus companies had gone out of business, so, I had a problem finding busses for our tours, so we took matters into our own hands. We bought a bus and started a transportation company! After many upgrades to the bus, we had our first ride in 2022. Eventually we added more busses, and now own 8 of them, ranging in size and styles.
When the Sphere opened, we were contracted to do the VIP transportation for the U2 residency, which doubled our business overnight! So now we offer all types of vehicles or any size group and any type of event.
Q: What is an experience on a Discreet party bus like?
A: It’s wildly varied! We had the Lieutenant Governor’s wife and lady’s brunch, which was more buttoned-up and classy. Then we turned around and had a 62-person 5th birthday party blasting Taylor Swift music and decorated with balloons and streamers. And of course, plenty of bachelor and bachelorette parties where the vibe is wild and plenty partying throughout the night. We’ve also got lots of golfers who like to get up early to hit the links at any number of our amazing golf courses in Southern Nevada. Our clientele is very diverse, and we can create just the experience they want.
Q: Do you have a minimum number of people required to book your services?
A: No. The way it works is we charge an hourly rate, regardless of what size vehicle you book. We have a one-hour minimum, and you book the bus for as long as you need it. It doesn’t even need to be used for transportation. Our vehicles have been used in music videos, as cooling stations, and even a bathroom facility when off-site and no other services are available.
Q: What types of groups book your services?
A: In addition to the bachelor/bachelorette parties and golf outings, there are a wide variety of groups who book our services. Quinceaneras are becoming very popular, as we can take the party to multiple locations. Raiders’ tailgates are popular with some of the local nearby bars who will offer their patrons a pre-game party at the bar, then hire us to pick up and drop off their guests for the game, then bring them back to their starting point following the game. It’s cheaper than the $50 parking on game day, and it reduces the risk of impaired driving. Pool season in the summertime is also very popular with groups of people moving from one day club to the next.
Q: Can adults “indulge responsibly” on your party busses?
A: Absolutely! We provide cups, ice and water on all of our busses, and our customers can bring their own libations and be their own bartender. Of course, everyone imbibing must be at least 21 years old.
Q: What are the benefits of booking a party bus, versus using a rideshare or hailing a cab?
A: There are a few reasons why booking a party bus can be beneficial. The first is keeping your group together. We can handle bigger groups and take everyone from point A to point B together. You just can’t do that with a rideshare or a cab. You’d have to book multiple rideshare vehicles to accommodate everyone, and hope that everyone arrives at your destination around the same time. Not to mention our party busses are part of the experience! You’re not traveling somewhere and then starting your night. Your experience begins the moment you step on one of our busses.
Q: How much lead time should people plan on to book your services?
A: It depends on the day of the week. During the week, we can usually accommodate our customers with little lead time. However, if you’d like to book our services over the weekend, we recommend booking at least a week in advance. Holiday weekends usually book out two to three weeks in advance. And if you’re coming in for one of the signature events such as EDC or a major headliner concert, you’re looking at booking a few months in advance.
Q: Are your party busses available around the clock?
A: Absolutely! We’re available 24/7.
Q: Does Discreet Transportation offer tour packages?
A: Yep! It’s not so much a formal tour, but we can put together tour packages based on what our customers would like to experience. It might be sight-seeing or adventure experiences around Southern Nevada’s natural spaces, or even craft brewery or Cannabis lounge crawls. Whatever you want to do, we can take you there!
Q: In your opinion, what is the not-to-miss thing when visiting Southern Nevada?
A: While we’ve got so many options of things to see and experience all around Southern Nevada, the Strip is it! My recommendation when coming to the Strip is to have a plan. Too often people come here and just wing it, which can often times result in higher prices for some things, or not being able to get into a restaurant, show or attraction because it’s sold out. We’ve got some of the best restaurants, shows, and experiences in the world! Planning ahead can ensure you’re getting the full experience based on what you want to do.
I say, book a party bus, let us know what you want to see and do, and let us help you plan it all out so you can have the best experience possible while you’re here! We live this every day, so we’ve got some great insider advice.
